Buying Policy
COMIC BOOKS AND COLLECTIONS
We will buy any collection as long as the price is right
We make the majority of our comic revenue on NEW COMICS and only a small percent on back issues
That is why we pay $20.00 & up per long box of comics, that is about $.10 cents a book on average for most things, the exceptions to this are key books, “KEY BOOKS”are important because they are the first appearance of a major or sometimes minor character or something important that happened to the character that has had some lasting effect (amazing Spiderman #121 the death of Gwen Stacy)
Things to do when bringing us your collections:
- Have your KEY ISSUES out or on top to speed up processing
- Valiant, malibu, early image, and 90’s marvel and dc are almost always $.50 cent box material with very few exceptions yes even the death of superman and spawn #1 with its 1 million print run is not very valuable to us…Starting in the late 80s, early 90’s, comics really began to be printed in huge numbers, and the number of collectors (speculators, mostly), began to soar. Therefore, there really aren’t truly rare, collectible comics (okay, with a few exceptions), after the late eighties/early nineties. There are just too many of them floating around. we see these books in just about every collection we buy.
- CONDITION is everything. It doesn’t matter how “old” it is- if it’s in horrible shape, it’s probably worth only a tiny fraction of what you THINK it’s worth.
- With very few exceptions if the title is cancelled or no longer ongoing we have little to no need for the back issues. The exception is silver (.12 cover price) and golden (.10 cover price) age books
- You may do better selling your stuff on ebay, but with $.35 cent and 3% final value listing fees and hundreds of books to list this can be expensive if you are not aware of what is hot and not…
- And not every book turns to cash as soon as we buy them, some collections take years to recoup the cost of even with buying them cheap…
